Privacy

Your files

Everything you make or open is stored only in your browser on your device (in its local storage, IndexedDB). Caboodle never uploads your files. Clearing your browser’s data for this site deletes them, so download anything you want to keep.

When you visit

• Caboodle is hosted by Cloudflare, which handles your IP address and browser details to deliver the pages and protect the site, like any web host.
• All fonts and code libraries come from caboodle.tools itself – no other servers are contacted while you work. One exception: exporting a wireframe that contains icons fetches just those icons from Google Fonts, to keep the file small.
• We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and doesn’t follow you across sites: page views, the site you came from, country, browser and device type.
• Caboodle also counts, anonymously, which programs are opened and which file types are opened or saved (for example “Slide show: opened a .pptx”). Only a daily total is stored – no ID, no IP address, no file names or contents. Nothing is counted if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
• Caboodle sets no cookies and shows no ads. We don’t sell or share data.

If you use a form

• Feedback (bug reports, ideas): your message, the program you sent it from, your email if you give one (only to reply), and – if you leave the box ticked – technical details: browser and its version, operating system, screen size and language.
• Cloud sync early access: your email and your answers (a fair price, a comment). We use your email only to tell you about Cloud sync.
• Both are stored in a database at Cloudflare, kept in the EU. When you open a form, a spam check (Cloudflare Turnstile) runs, and Cloudflare processes browser signals to tell people from bots.

Your rights

To see, correct or delete what you’ve sent – or to be removed from the Cloud sync list – email hello@caboodle.tools. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in Sweden, IMY).

Trademarks

Microsoft, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe, Photoshop, Acrobat, Blender, Jira, Salesforce, Oracle, Balsamiq, Excalidraw, draw.io, Notepad++, Cambio COSMIC and other names mentioned in Caboodle are trademarks of their owners. Caboodle is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by any of them. Their names are used only to say which files and formats Caboodle can open and save.

Source code and licences

The Spreadsheet is free software under the GNU General Public License, version 3, because it is built on HyperFormula, which uses that licence. Its source code is the files the site serves – unminified, exactly as written: spreadsheet.html, css/app.css, the js/ folder, and the shared files it runs with (in shared/: chrome.js, chrome.css, dock.js, dock.css, docsession.js, docstore.js, download.js, find.js, kit.js, kit.css, shell.js, site.js, templates.js, thumbs.js, thumbs.css). You can download each one from caboodle.tools, for example js/model.js. HyperFormula’s source is on GitHub (version 3.4.0). See LICENSE.txt for the full picture.
